Due To Requests From The Community, Credit Union Will Hold A Second Free Community Event In Response To The Equifax Breach

One of the first steps recommended to consumers affected by the Equifax breach is to check their credit report. However, sometimes credit reports are difficult to understand or many do not know what to look for in the event of identity theft.  As a community service, Sunmark Federal Credit Union is offering a SECOND free credit review day Tuesday, October 3 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. This opportunity for a free review of credit is available for members AND non-members at Sunmark’s Latham branch, 1187 Troy-Schenectady Road. You do not need to bank with Sunmark to attend and receive a free review.

The Sunmark team will review reports with those who attend and explain each item, which sometimes can be overwhelming to navigate on their own. Sunmark has expanded their credit review team for this event and will be available first come, first served. Carole Wands, Vice President of Sales and Marketing said, “As a credit union, one of our first priorities is to educate our members to ensure financial success. Since so many were affected by the recent breach, we decided to offer this free credit review to the entire community to help them understand how to read a credit report and protect their information. We are all in this together.”
