First, here are a few important dates

Saturday, June 1, 2019: Your Price Chopper EFCU account will officially convert to a Sunmark account. On this day, you will not have access to either account. You will not be able to use your Sunmark or Price Chopper EFCU debit card or utilize ATMs, but you can begin using your new Sunmark checks, if applicable. Any change in rates or fees will take effect at this time. Sunmark’s branches and Member Solution Center will be closed for the account conversion.

Sunday, June 2, 2019: Your Sunmark account is now active. Please note, your Price Chopper EFCU debit card and checks will no longer work. Please begin using your new Sunmark debit card.

Monday, June 3, 2019: All of our services are now available to you, including our branches, Member Solution Center, Online and Mobile Banking, mobile app, and more!

How do I use online banking?

Why is this merger good for me?

The merger will provide several key benefits, such as convenient access to new competitive products, services and opportunities. We also offer state-of-the-art technology and a comprehensive suite of online and mobile banking tools. Sunmark has the same member service philosophy as Price Chopper EFCU so members will be treated with the same quality experience. We currently offer ten convenient branch locations across the Capital Region with access to 30,000 surcharge-free CO-OP ATMs.   

Will the Price Chopper EFCU branches remain open?

Yes! The current Price Chopper EFCU branches will remain open with the same familiar employees that will continue serving you.  You will also see some new Sunmark faces! 

When will my Price Chopper EFCU account officially become a Sunmark account?

On June 3, 2019, your Price Chopper EFCU account will officially become a Sunmark account. 

Will my account number change?

Yes, all Price Chopper EFCU members will be receiving new account numbers. All members will be receiving a packet in May that will include a new account number and information regarding important actions.

Will the rates on my Price Chopper EFCU accounts change?

Yes, savings and checking rates will be updated to reflect Sunmark’s rates on June 1, 2019, with the exception of Youth Savings accounts, which will remain the same.

What online and mobile services does Sunmark have?

Sunmark offers real-time online banking, mobile banking with free remote check deposit, text and email alerts, online BillPay, and eStatements. These services are available starting June 3, 2019. To access them you can log in at www.sunmarkfcu.org or via the mobile app by using your new Sunmark account number as your username and the last four digits of your social security number (SSN) as your password. You will be prompted to change both after logging in for the first time. Don’t forget to download our app to your smartphone!

Will I continue to receive statements? 

Members will receive paper statements through May 2019 from Price Chopper EFCU. Beginning with your June 2019 statement, all members will begin receiving statements through Sunmark. To sign up for eStatements, or to receive copies of any statements, please call 866-SUNMARK on or after June 3, 2019.

Will I still receive tax documents?

You may receive a 1099-INT and/or 1098 Form from both Price Chopper EFCU and Sunmark, if applicable. These statements will be mailed to you in January 2020. The Price Chopper EFCU tax statements will report dividends received and/or interest paid until May 31, 2019. Sunmark will report dividends received and/or interest paid from June 1 through December 31, 2019. If dividends received/interest paid are less than the reporting threshold for either period, no tax statement will be issued.

Will I have access to ATMs?

Sunmark has a number of ATM and myTMs (Interactive Teller Machines) throughout the Capital District. In addition Sunmark participates in the CO-OP Shared Branching Network, which boasts nearly 30,000 ATMs across the country that you can access as if visiting a Sunmark ATM. Will I need to update my direct deposit on Price Chopper Direct Connect (PCDC)?

Yes. Beginning June 3, 2019 you will need to update your direct deposit on PCDC with your new account information. 

Will I need to update my direct deposit through Golub payroll?

No. If you had a partial deposit to Price Chopper EFCU and have used the white payroll deduction card, we will make the necessary new account changes for you. 

Will I need to update my Bill Pay?

No. Any payments you have scheduled through Price Chopper EFCU Bill Pay will automatically carry over to Sunmark’s Bill Pay system beginning June 3, 2019. 

Can I still use my Price Chopper EFCU checks?

You can still use your Price Chopper EFCU checks through May 31, 2019. Beginning June 1, 2019, you will need to begin using Sunmark checks. Starter checks will be provided to you free of charge before June 1, 2019. A free box of checks will also be provided if requested. Checking accountholders will receive more information on this before June 1, 2019.

Can I still use my Price Chopper EFCU debit card?

You can still use your Price Chopper EFCU VISA debit card through May 31, 2019. Beginning June 2, 2019, you will need to begin using your Sunmark MasterCard debit card as your Price Chopper EFCU debit card will not work. Your new debit card will be provided to you free of charge before June 1, 2019. Please note you will not be able to use your Price Chopper EFCU or Sunmark debit card on June 1, 2019. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Can I still use my Price Chopper EFCU credit card?

You will be able to continue using your Price Chopper EFCU credit card through the foreseeable future. When this change occurs, Sunmark will reach out to you regarding a new Sunmark VISA credit card, free of charge. 

I have a loan with Price Chopper EFCU. Will anything change?

For most loans, your payment, rate and terms will remain the same. Members can continue making payments just as you do now. Mortgage holders will receive more information regarding their loan transfer from Midwest, Sunmark’s servicer, before June 1, 2019.

I have an Overdraft Line of Credit. Will anything change?

If you currently hold an overdraft line of credit with Price Chopper EFCU, there will be changes and you will receive more information in May’s packet.

What about my automated Price Chopper EFCU loan payments and transfers? 

If you have any automated payments and transfers from a Price Chopper EFCU deposit account to pay a Price Chopper EFCU loan, there will be no changes.

What if I currently have Credit, Life & Disability Insurance on my loan(s)?

Your insurance will automatically transfer to Sunmark and your rates and terms will remain the same.

Will hours of business change at my current branches?

Hours as of April 22, 2019 for the Five Corners location will be:       

Monday:           9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Tuesday:           9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Wednesday:      10:00 am – 5:00 pm

Thursday:          9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Friday:              9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Hours as of April 22, 2019 for the Nott Street location will be:          

Monday:           9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Thursday:          9:00 am – 1:00 pm

What if I already have a Sunmark account?
If you already have a Sunmark account prior to the merger, on June 3, 2019 your Price Chopper EFCU account number will convert into a brand new, separate Sunmark account number. If you would like to combine your multiple Sunmark accounts post June 3, 2019, please call 866-SUNMARK or visit any of our branches.

Can I open a Sunmark account prior to June 3, 2019?

Absolutely! The Five Corners location of Price Chopper EFCU will have a Sunmark employee visiting for the month of May 2019 to discuss Sunmark products and services, and to answer any questions about Sunmark. Please stop by the Five Corners location or any Sunmark branch to say hello!
