Overdraft privilege

It’s important to keep your checking account in good standing – but even the most careful number crunchers need a hand at times. Overdraft Privilege Standard Coverage* can save you money, time, and the embarrassment that comes with high merchant fees due to insufficient funds in your account.

This service is available on any eligible Sunmark checking account that has been open and active for 30 days, and if your loans are less than 30 days delinquent. You are only charged if you use Overdraft Privilege.

If you utilize Overdraft Privilege:

  • Sunmark will send you a notice informing you that your account has been brought to a negative balance in order to pay the items. You must bring your account to a positive balance within 32 days of when the first overdraft is paid.
  • We will charge you a fee of $30.00 each time we pay an overdraft. There is no limit per day on the total fees we can charge you for overdrawing your account.

If funds aren't available in your account, there are two types of coverage available.

What is covered with Overdraft Privilege Standard Coverage:

  • Checks
  • ACH (automatic debits)
  • Recurring debit card transactions
  • Online BillPay items
  • Internet banking transactions
  • Telephone banking
  • Teller window transactions

What is covered with Overdraft Privilege Extended Coverage:
