Collections Specialist-Latham

Our Collections department in Latham is hiring! The primary function of this position is to oversee the delinquent loan accounts, credit card accounts and fraudulent share accounts of the credit union, ensuring prompt collection of past due moneys.  As needed, handles all levy and restraining notices and informs member of such action.

Electronic Solutions Analyst

Our Payment Services team is hiring!!!

The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate all electronic delivery channels, maximizing the Credit Union’s use of these systems and maintain a deep working knowledge of these systems and their architecture and interplay within the Credit Union’s environment. Makes recommendations regarding operational system configurations, implements changes as agreed, and manages system upgrades. Performs in depth testing on all operational systems to ensure operational integrity.  Assists in the development and implementation of new electronic banking products and services to maximize profitability. Responsible for the prompt and accurate processing of MasterCard ATM/ITM activity, processing disputes, claims, and account adjustments.  Submit necessary documentation/notification to the Accounting Department for general ledger reconciliation. Monitor systems jointly with IT and Deposit Operations to ensure that ATMs/ITMs are functioning properly

 Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

 High School diploma or equivalent plus at least 3 years of credit union experience or related experience with another financial institution in electronic banking operations and ATM/ITM operations. Strong understanding of all compliance cash management related services. Ability to make recommendations/and acts independently to resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with credit union practices, policies and procedures; and attention to detail is a must.

Home Equity Processor

Sunmark is looking for a Home Equity Processor to work at our Latham office.

The primary responsibility of this position is to process home equity loans from application to closing.  Works directly with members, Sunmark employees, and vendors to ensure a positive member experience.   Will also support the Home Equity Underwriter and the Mortgage Operations Manager.  Promotes and participates in a sales and service culture consistent with the credit union’s mission of exceeding member expectations.

Internal Auditor

Our Internal Audit team is hiring! This position is located at our Latham Administrative Offices, 1187 Troy Schenectady Road, Latham/Route 7. Minimal travel as most of our staff are in our Latham headquarters building and branches are all within 1/2hr commute.

Loan Servicing Representative

Sunmark is looking for a new team member to join our Loan Servicing team in Latham.

Typical hours: Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30pm


Provides guidance and assistance to staff pertaining to all loan products and procedures. Answers member questions related to general lending procedures either by telephone, in person or by correspondence.  Assists members with questions regarding loan payments, processes payments and loan advances. Reviews and processes requests for our third party portfolios to ensure members needs and concerns are addressed.  This includes Credit Cards, Leases, Mortgages and Student Loans. Processes requests for 2nd draws and Subordination Agreements.  Review Student Loans to make loan decisions based on the Credit Union’s criteria and follow up with applicants to become members. Processes corrections requested by the Quality Review Department to comply with regulations and lending policy. Transfer loans to new membership accounts per member requests.  Maintains and updates loan files; Reviews and processes rate adjustments when necessary. Maintains and updates the electronic lien filing system (FDI) and the filing of UCC1’s to ensure we have the proper collateral for our loan portfolio. Completes necessary Leasing and Student Loan tracking logs needed. Scans miscellaneous documentation to True Image.


Requirements: A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, minimum of 1 year of experience in a financial institution to become familiar with routine policies, procedures and terminology. Credit Union or consumer loan experience preferred. Consistently has a positive attitude and commitment to creating WOW service. Strong computer, organizational and attention to detail a must.

Member Service- Schenectady, Saratoga, Glenville, Clifton Park & Brunswick

Our Schenectady, Saratoga, Glenville, Clifton Park & upcoming Brunswick branches are looking for new team members. The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the daily member service operations including, but not limited to staff training, new employee orientation, and staff scheduling.  Maintains adequate workflow between the TCR and ITM service stations and ensures all policies and procedures are uniformly followed.  Supervises staff in the absence of management.  Promotes and supports staff in achieving sales goals. Mortgage Processor-Latham

Sunmark is looking for an experienced Mortgage Processor. This position is located at our Administration Building, 1187 Troy Schenectady Road in Latham.

Typical hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 – 4:30 pm. Some evening and weekend hours as needed. The mortgage department is flexible with the shift but MUST be able to work a minimum of 40 hours.

  • Summary:
  • -Prepares and issues Initial Closing Disclosures and all revised closing disclosures. Responsible for running UCD data file for agencies.
  • -Assigns Settlement Agent once a file is cleared to close. Prepares and sends cleared to close packages to the settlement agents including any ‘At Closing’ conditions. Follows up with settlements agents to ensure closings are scheduled within 24-48 of receipt.
  • -Sends out the closing invitation to the Mortgage list and Disbursal report to the Accounting list with the closing date, time, and loan amount. Verifies notation for government insured loans, lender credits, grants, or subordinate financing listed on Disbursal report. For Construction to Permanent loans, sets up mortgage loans on GUI spectrum, completes disbursal and initial advance of construction funding, if applicable.
  • -Reviews the Final Closing Disclosure for errors and omissions. Reports the errors or omissions to the closing agent so the appropriate corrections can be made prior to the closing.
  •  -Completes the HMDA report for every mortgage loan submitted as part of the process of preparing the loan for submission to the investor for final sale. Also completes the HMDA report for all withdrawn, cancelled, or declined files. Uploads HMDA-LAR quarterly.
  •  -Prepares and submits files for Government Insurance including FHA, VA and USDA.
  •  -Sends check breakdown sheet from the settlement agent to the Accounting Department with the Closing Disclosure.
  •  -Registers closed loans on the MERS system within 7 days from the note date.
  •  -Reconciles monthly points and upfront MI for year-end statements.

The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, prior mortgage processing experience, strong computer proficiency, organizational skills and attention to detail.

Secondary Market Specialist -Mortgage-Latham

The primary responsibility of this position is to analyze and manage interest rate and credit risk for mortgage loans related to maintaining loans in portfolio and selling loans into the secondary market.  This position will performs a wide range of functions, including trade reconciliation, mortgage pricing, loan locking, whole loan trading, mortgage pooling, product development, management reporting activities, overseeing the funding and shipping of files and monitors the Warehouse line. This position also acts as internal lock desk.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Master degree in Finance or related field.
  • Mortgage banking and/or financial certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mortgage banking, secondary marketing and accounting.
  • Secondary Marketing department experience and strong accounting aptitude required.
  • Highly disciplined attention to financial detail.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Good computer skills; working knowledge of spreadsheets, financial analytical research tools, and relational databases; Excel preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on a team in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to analyze operations conditions, take corrective action as required, project results and implement strategies to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to quickly identify and adapt to rapidly changing market conditions.
