Accountant Generalist

 This position works at our Administrative Offices, 1187 Troy Schenectady Road, Latham.

 Typical hours, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.

 The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the balancing of the Interactive Teller Machines (ITM’s), Mastercard Activity and Mortgage Fundings. Reconcile merger accounts, assist with workflow and daily branch balancing processes and post incoming and outgoing wires.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Accounting/Finance with prior accounting experience preferably within the bank/credit union industry. Strong working knowledge with Word and Excel and strong attention to detail.

Assistant Manager-Call Center

Our Management team within our Latham Call Center is hiring!!!

Business Hours: (Must have availability to work within the hours listed) If an employee is scheduled for a Saturday, a half or full day will be given during the week to meet the 40 hour work week schedule.

Monday-Wednesday 8-5pm, Thursday & Friday 8-6pm, Saturday 9-1pm.

The primary purpose of this position is to supervise staff and ensure proper loan and underwriting staff coverage as required. Monitors all loan application and referral systems to maximize effectiveness and staffing levels.  Assigns loans and underwriting duties among staff to guarantee that all applications, underwriting, and referrals are properly completed. Conducts quality reviews of loan applications ensuring that credit union policies and procedures are followed. Coaches and motivates staff to achieve sales goals.  Prepares promotions to increase sales of credit union products and services. Completes accurate reports necessary to track all data required to effectively manage the call center.  Analyzes information and suggests improvements. Interviews loan applicants to inform members of current rates, policy requirements, and the lending services offered by the credit union.  Receives and underwrites loan applications. 

The ideal candidate will have a High school graduate or GED or higher plus prior banking/lending/credit experience. Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills a must. Prior leadership experience preferred.

Commercial Loss Mitigation Specialist

The primary purpose of this position is to monitor delinquent Commercial loans, Mortgages and lines of credit to ensure prompt collection and/or workout strategy.  

 

  • Develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of all loan documentation.

  • Review credit bureau, bank statement and applications to assist in interpreting data.  

  • Handles complex collections situations, having direct contact with members to assess repayment options.

  • Thoroughly analyze loan relationships and recommend work out solutions and loan modifications.

  • Investigate and conduct skip tracing as required, utilizing resources available.

  • Keep current on business and market trends that may affect portfolio performance.

  • Assist in the collection and workout of Consumer Loan delinquencies

The ideal candidate will have experience with Commercial/Business loans or within a collections environment. Fluent with the FDCPA, CFPB, SCRA and bankruptcy. Strong time management, attention to detail and sound judgement with problem solving. Computer proficiency, including knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook. Prior experience with Credit Quest is helpful. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others in the workplace.

Fraud and Security Specialist

Our Risk Management department is looking for a new team member.

 The primary responsibilities of this position are the investigation of alleged and identified fraud involving Sunmark (its branches, members/accounts, products/services), maintaining adequate security procedures and devices throughout the credit union, and performing routine and annual department projects. Exemplifies the credit union’s mission of exceeding expectations by performing at high levels in each of Sunmark’s performance factors: Attitude, Accountability & Communication/Interpersonal Skills.

 Typical hours are Monday-Friday 8-4:30pm however can exceed as needed due to security notifications.

The ideal candidate will have a college degree with experience in security or fraud, preferably within a financial services industry. Must be well organized and have strong communication skills to work within sensitive information.

Member Service (Teller)-Delmar

Our Delmar branch is hiring!

Staff will greet and respond to member questions or direct them to appropriate staff.  Informs members of credit union products, services and policies.  Accurately processes transactions daily.

The ideal candidate will have a High School/GED or higher plus prior customer service experience, ability to build relationships with our members, acclimate to new technology and strong attention to detail.

Branch hours: must have flexibility to work rotating Saturdays with option for time off during the week. Actual shift may vary based on branch opening/closing/balancing needs.

Mortgage Closer

Sunmark’s Mortgage Department is Growing.

Typical hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 – 4:30 pm. Some evening and weekend hours as needed.

  • Summary:
  • Prepares and issues Initial Closing Disclosures and all revised closing disclosures. Responsible for running UCD data file for agencies.
  • Assigns Settlement Agent once a file is cleared to close. Prepares and sends cleared to close packages to the settlement agents including any ‘At Closing’ conditions. Follows up with settlements agents to ensure closings are scheduled within 24-48 of receipt.
  • Sends out the closing invitation to the Mortgage list and Disbursal report to the Accounting list with the closing date, time, and loan amount. Verifies notation for government insured loans, lender credits, grants, or subordinate financing listed on Disbursal report. For Construction to Permanent loans, sets up mortgage loans on GUI spectrum, completes disbursal and initial advance of construction funding, if applicable.
  • Reviews the Final Closing Disclosure for errors and omissions. Reports the errors or omissions to the closing agent so the appropriate corrections can be made prior to the closing.
  • Completes the HMDA report for every mortgage loan submitted as part of the process of preparing the loan for submission to the investor for final sale. Also completes the HMDA report for all withdrawn, cancelled, or declined files. Uploads HMDA-LAR quarterly.
  • Prepares and submits files for Government Insurance including FHA, VA and USDA.
  • Sends check breakdown sheet from the settlement agent to the Accounting Department with the Closing Disclosure.
  • Registers closed loans on the MERS system within 7 days from the note date.
  • Reconciles monthly points and upfront MI for year-end statements.

The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and prior banking or mortgage/real estate closing experience.
