Member Service (Teller)-Schenectady

As our 1616 Broadway branch in Schenectady is hiring!

Staff will greet and respond to member questions or direct them to appropriate staff.  Informs members of credit union products, services and policies, including ways to access the credit union from a tablet or self-service kiosk (ITM).   Offer all types of available account access with products and services as well as other related services. Assist members with ITM usage to support Credit Union technology resource’s. Accurately processes transactions daily.  Receives loan payments, processes cash advances and transfers, redeems bonds and processes insurance payments.   Processes transfers and credit card payments.  Accurately balance member transactions, cash drawer and ITM’s daily.  Performs vault management. Runs check scanner and ITM/ATM replenishing and balancing.

The ideal candidate will have a High School/GED or higher plus prior customer service experience, ability to build relationships with our members, acclimate to new technology and strong attention to detail.

Mortgage Originator

Are you a Mortgage Originator that sources their own leads but wishes the company provided leads as well?

We offer the best of both to experienced loan officers as we have two types of positions available. Each position has different comp plan options.

We offer Fixed Rate, ARMs, SONYMA, FHA, VA/USDA, Construction and end loans, 203k etc.

Candidates must have willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends and able to travel to all branches and outside mortgage locations when needed. Reliable transportation including a valid NYS Driver’s License. Prior mortgage experience with demonstrated sales experience. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook. This position requires excellent communication and time management skills.

Mortgage Processor

Sunmark is looking for an experienced Mortgage Processor. This position is located at our Administration Building, 1187 Troy Schenectady Road in Latham.

Typical hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 – 4:30 pm. Some evening and weekend hours as needed. The mortgage department is flexible with the shift but MUST be able to work a minimum of 40 hours.

  • Primary Responsibilites:
  • Prepares and issues Initial Closing Disclosures and all revised closing disclosures. Responsible for running UCD data file for agencies.
  • Assigns Settlement Agent once a file is cleared to close. Prepares and sends cleared to close packages to the settlement agents including any ‘At Closing’ conditions. Follows up with settlements agents to ensure closings are scheduled within 24-48 of receipt.
  • Sends out the closing invitation to the Mortgage list and Disbursal report to the Accounting list with the closing date, time, and loan amount. Verifies notation for government insured loans, lender credits, grants, or subordinate financing listed on Disbursal report. For Construction to Permanent loans, sets up mortgage loans on GUI spectrum, completes disbursal and initial advance of construction funding, if applicable.
  • Reviews the Final Closing Disclosure for errors and omissions. Reports the errors or omissions to the closing agent so the appropriate corrections can be made prior to the closing.
  •  Completes the HMDA report for every mortgage loan submitted as part of the process of preparing the loan for submission to the investor for final sale. Also completes the HMDA report for all withdrawn, cancelled, or declined files. Uploads HMDA-LAR quarterly.
  •  Prepares and submits files for Government Insurance including FHA, VA and USDA.
  •  Sends check breakdown sheet from the settlement agent to the Accounting Department with the Closing Disclosure.
  •  Registers closed loans on the MERS system within 7 days from the note date.
  •  Reconciles monthly points and upfront MI for year-end statements.

 The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, prior mortgage processing/lending experience, strong computer proficiency, organizational skills and attention to detail.

Sales Development Specialist (Call Center)-Latham

Our Member Solution Center in Latham, is looking for a new team member.

Competitive hourly wage plus high incentive potential based on attainment of goals.    

Hours of work are typically Monday through Friday 8:30-5pm.

The primary purpose of this position is to enhance member service by offering Sunmark’s products and services, via outbound calling, to members.  Seeks to attain established goals on key products as assigned on a monthly basis. Interviews loan applicants to inform members of current rates, policy requirements, and the lending services offered by the credit union. Works closely with the Member Solution Center staff to resolve any member service issues. 

Qualifications:  High school graduate or GED plus 1-2 years of demonstrated sales ability. Excellent communication skills a must. Prior related credit union/financial experience preferred.
