More Credit ResourcesMonitor your credit with the centralized service for consumers to request free annual credit reports. You are entitled to receive one free credit report every 12 months from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies – Equifax, Experian and TransUnion – every 12 months. Credit reports are an overview of your credit – but do not include your credit score. You can, however, purchase your credit score when your request your free credit report. The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003 (FACT Act) requires that a centralized service be provided for consumers where they can request free credit reports annually. Consumer Tip: Similar sites exist, but www.annualcreditreport.com was created in response to the FACT Act – and is the “official” site to obtain your free annual credit reports. www.equifax.com Report errors in your credit on each of the three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies. Different lenders use each of the reporting agencies – Equifax, Experian and TransUnion – to obtain your credit score, so it’s important to report any errors in your credit to all three. Each of the sites also provides additional services – such as 24-hour monitoring of your credit reports and scores – for a fee. www.myfico.com/FICOCreditScoreEstimator Guesstimate your credit score by answering 10 simple questions. If you don’t want to pay for your credit score, this credit score estimator – offered by myFICO, the consumer division of Fair Isaac (the company that invented the FICO credit risk score used by lenders) – can help. It takes just a few minutes to answer 10 questions about credit use before you receive an estimate of your credit score (given in a 50-point range). Consumer Tip: The estimates are only as reliable as the information you enter. Protect your identity and manage your credit with Benefits Plus Identity Theft Shield.
