| What
is Enhanced Security Login? |
| Enhanced
Security Login is our online security feature
that provides extra security protection from fraud
and identity theft to Sunmark's online banking
users. This feature is designed to ensure that
only the true "owner" of the account
can access account information. |
| How
does Enhanced Security Login work? |
| When
you log in to SunLink or BiznetLink, you will
automatically be prompted to set up "challenge
questions" and offered an option to add extra
security to your computer.
If you choose to add extra security protection
on your computer, you will be recognized as the
true "owner" of your accounts when you
enter your normal login information from this
computer and will not be required to answer your
challenge questions. However, if you do not choose
to add extra security protection to a computer,
you would be required to answer your challenge
questions on each subsequent login, in addition
to your login information, before proceeding into
your online banking session.
If
you use multiple computers, the first time you
log in to online banking from each computer you'll
be asked to answer your challenge questions before
proceeding into your online banking session. Once
inside, you can opt to add extra security protection
to additional computers to avoid having to answer
these challenge questions every time you login
from that computer. |
| How
is my computer authenticated? |
| When
you authenticate your computer, a secure cookie
is placed in your browser. (Additionally, if you
have a flash plugin, a flash object will also be
placed on your computer). The secure cookie is unique,
and when used in combination with your login information,
it creates a unique way for us to identify you as
the true "owner" of your accounts. Each
computer you choose to add extra security protection
to has a unique, secure cookie which is only used
by Sunmark to validate your identity and does not
contain any personal information. (Flash objects
work in much the same way.) |
| How
does Enhanced Security Login give me added protection? |
| Enhanced
Security Login adds another layer of protection
for our online banking users by allowing us to
recognize computers you have added extra security
protection to along with your normal login information
or by requiring you to supply us with additional
information so that we can confirm you are the
true "owner" of the accounts. What this
means to you is that if someone were to obtain
your login information and try to access your
accounts from their computer, they would be stopped
from gaining access because they would be asked
for information that only you know.
For
your protection, do not share login information
or answers to your challenge questions. Sunmark
will NEVER call or email you soliciting this information. |
| Can
I opt out of Enhanced Login Security? |
| No.
The Federal Government is requiring financial
institutions to incorporate additional security
features to protect consumers from fraud and identity
theft. If your financial institution has not implemented
these changes yet, they will most likely be implementing
them soon.
Sunmark
understands that you may not have time the first
time you log in or may want to consult with another
account owner before adding your challenge questions.
You may "skip" the setup process twice
before you will be required to set up challenge
questions in order to access your accounts online. |
| Can
I change my challenge questions after I set them
up? |
| Yes.
In SunLink and BiznetLink, login to your account
and go to User Options then Challenge Question
Setup to change your questions or answers. |
| What
do I do if I forget the answers to my challenge
questions? |
| Please
contact our Member
Access Center to have your online banking
login information reset.
Please
note that if we reset your login information,
you will be required to go through the Enhanced
Login Security process again from the beginning. |
| Can
I still login to my account from any computer? |
| Yes,
you can still log in to your accounts from any
computer. However, if you log in from a computer
that does not have the extra security protection
added to it, you will be asked to provide answers
to your challenge questions in addition to your
login information before you will be able to access
your accounts online. |
| What
if I do not plan to use a computer anymore? How
do I make sure that it no longer has the extra security
protection added? |
| The
best way to ensure that the extra security protection
is removed from a computer is by logging in to
online banking from the computer that you wish
to remove. Then go to User Options and select
the option to remove the extra security protection
from the specific computer you are using.
If you do not have access to that computer anymore,
you can still remove the extra security protection
by selecting to remove it from all computers.
However, you will be required to answer the challenge
questions when logging in to online banking from
all computers until you re-add the extra security
protection for each computer. |
| Why
am I being asked for answers to my challenge questions
on a computer that I previously added the extra
security protection to? |
| This
is most likely occurring because the secure cookie
that was placed in your browser has been deleted.
Here are some things to consider:
- Were
the cookies in your browser deleted for some
reason?
- Are
you using Anti-Spyware software that deletes
all cookies?
- Are
you using multiple browsers? Each browser must
have its' own unique, secure cookie installed
on it.
